Stichting GERRIT sluit twaalfjarige samenwerkingsovereenkomst met Eurofiber voor levering redundant dark fiber-netwerk

Utrecht, 20 oktober 2015 – Eurofiber en Stichting GERRIT, een kennis- en innovatieplatform voor de zorg in Noord-Nederland, hebben een samenwerkingscontract afgesloten. Het gaat om de levering van een dark fiber-ring die het grootste deel van de ziekenhuizen in de regio en twee datacenters met elkaar verbindt. In Friesland bestaat een dergelijk glasvezelnetwerk al. Met de komst van de nieuwe dark fiber-ring wordt het hele noorden voorzien van een IT-infrastructuur waarover de ziekenhuizen en laboratoria gebruikmaken van zorgdiensten en medische informatie uitwisselen, bijvoorbeeld via de wereldwijde IHE-XDS-standaard. Het contract heeft een looptijd van twaalf jaar. In het eerste kwartaal van 2016 is het glasvezelnetwerk operationeel.

Two weeks after the Commission unveiled its Action Plan for a Capital Market Union, including a proposal aiming to promote long-term investment in infrastructure for Insurers, the long-term investment and reindustrialisation intergroup of the European Parliament held a conference in order to bring the attention of EU leaders on the crucial role of infrastructure investment. 

Dominique Riquet, Chair of the intergroup said: "The challenge for infrastructures: being at the crossroad of interests. With the contribution of the regulator, project promoters as well as investors must find satisfaction."
