30 Verbände setzen auf konzentrierten Umbau zur Gigabit-Gesellschaft
Berlin/Brüssel, 12. Juli 2016. Die führenden deutschen Breitbandverbände BREKO, BUG-LAS und VATM bekräftigen ihre deutliche Kritik an dem geänderten Entscheidungsentwurf für Vectoring im Nahbereich der Hauptverteiler (HVt). „Der ‚neue‘ Entwurf bedeutet keine Verbesserung, sondern dürfte in vielen Fällen sogar zu einer weiteren erheblichen Ver-schlechterung der Situation führen. Das betrifft auch die Vorleistungsprodukte, die dringend marktgerecht ausgestaltet werden müssen, da nur so der Wettbewerb aufrechterhalten wer-den kann. Auch mit dem zweiten Entscheidungsentwurf erhalten die Investoren nicht die von der Bundesnetzagentur versprochene Planungssicherheit", so die Verbands-Geschäftsführer Dr. Stephan Albers (BREKO), Jürgen Grützner (VATM) und Wolfgang Heer (BUGLAS): „Wir machen uns Sorgen um den Standort Deutschland. Ohne Gigabit-Netze, die schon jetzt geplant und schnellstmöglich ausgerollt werden müssen, können wir mit anderen Industrie-nationen auf Dauer nicht Schritt halten. Wir gehen davon aus, dass die EU-Kommission in jedem Fall auch hinsichtlich der vorgenommenen Veränderungen eine genauere Überprü-fung einleitet." Dafür gebe es gleich mehrere Gründe.

Letter on Vectoring
21 April 2016
In a letter addressed to Commissioner Oettinger, Vice-President Andrus Ansip and other Commissioners, 25 associations including ECTA expressed their concerns aiming at modifying a vectoring monopoly largely granted by the Bundesnetzagentur (BNetzA) that would benefit Deutsche Telekom. The Commission has received the draft notification of the German regulator.
The transition to a gigabit society can only be realized through competition rather than new technological monopolies.

Brussels, 19 January 2016: Today, the European Parliament voted on the report on Towards a Digital Single Market Act by rapporteurs Kaja Kallas (ALDE, EE) and Evelyne Gebhardt (S&D, DE).
This report offsets out the European Parliament’s position on all aspects of the Digital Single Market Strategy presented by the European Commission on 6 May 2015 and is characterised by a strong support for innovation- friendly policies and competition.
