Sonus networks chosen to support implementation of bt's 21st century network
WESTFORD, Mass., November 9, 2007 - Sonus Networks, Inc. 16 October 2007, Brussels (Reuters) - New telecoms operators in the EU on Tuesday denounced plans to ease regulations which guarantee them fair access to existing mobile providers' networks.
"We are absolutely opposed (to the move)," said Ilsa Godlovitch of the European Competitive Telecommunications Association (ECTA). Her group represents new operators such as Neuf Cegetel (NEUF.PA: Quote,Profile, Research) of France and Virgin Media (VEMD.O: Quote,Profile, Research), which compete with former monopolies.

ECTA uses Next Generation Access conference to announce lost investment as a result of weak and inconsistent regulation
Brussels, 26 June, 2007 - Telecoms industry body ECTA today used a conference on High Speed Broadband access, currently the most contentious issue facing EU telecoms regulators, to announce the highlights of its forthcoming Regulatory Scorecard Investment Report. The Report concludes that investment in telecommunications in Europe's 15 leading economies could have been as much as 16 billion higher if regulatory environments had been consistently more favourable to competition.

Cuatrecasas has recruited Juan Manuel Ruiz Aizpuru as a partner of the firm in its Bilbao office. Until now, Mr. Ruiz Aizpuru was director of legal services for Spain and Europe at BBVA, the bank at which he developed his professional career.
The new Cuatrecasas partner joined BBVA in 1976 in Banco Vizcaya's Central Litigation Department and has held various positions within the bank's legal services. He was director of legal services for the Basque Country, director of legal consultancy for the Industrial Group, director of legal consultancy for Diversification, Corporate and International Banking, and deputy director-general and director of legal consultancy for Banking Business and Diversification. Since 2003, he was the bank's director of legal services for Spain and Europe.

Telenor implements multi-country ring back tone solution from the european computer telecoms group (ect)
Munich, March 15th 2007 - Telenor, one of Europe´s leading carriers, has launched Telenor's Ring Back Tone Service Ventetoner based on the technology of the European Computer Telecoms Group (ECT). From a shared central installation in Norway, the platform is enabled for eventual operations in other countries at a later stage. ECT has provided similar multi-country implementations in a number of important projects, addressing the typical double pressure on carriers to cut costs while at the same time introducing new and innovative services.
In order to minimize the organizational resources for administration, Telenor is using the interfaces available with the ECT solution to outsource all marketing and provisioning to multiple content providers. ECT provided the complete solution within 16 weeks from order to final acceptance.
