Incredibly small, lightweight and portable telephone makes calls from any PC with high speed Internet access to any number anywhere in the world

London, 5 October, 2006 - Vonage UK, the pioneering Internet telephone company, today announced the UK launch of the Vonage V-Phone, the world's smallest phone and most portable telephone landline.

Packed in a multifunctional USB device, the Vonage V-Phone comes with the Vonage Talk software pre-loaded, so that customers do not need to install it on their PCs and there is no need to restart the computer to start making and receiving calls. As the phone has no battery, there is also no need to worry about charging it. It is that simple! The device's 250 MB flash drive also stores all user contacts and call records. It may not look like a traditional phone be it landline or mobile, but the V-Phone does what phones were designed to do provide global voice communications.

As Vonage strives to enhance and facilitate the communication experience between individuals, we are very pleased to be offering our V-phone in the UK. Our new Plug and Go portable telephone has been designed to offer consumers a flexible, convenient, easy-to-use telephone experience no matter where they are in the world, said Kerry Ritz, managing director of Vonage UK. One of the best features of the V-Phone is that customers are not limited to a particular PC or location to make or receive calls, they can now truly carry their landline in their pocket. For this reason and many more we believe the V-Phone is certainly one of the most innovative ways of providing a communication service and represents the next step in the evolution of communication.

With its plug and play ease and the ability to use the device at any PC anywhere in the world, the V-Phone is ideal for travellers, businessmen, students, or anyone on the go. Users can check their voicemail from any computer with high speed Internet access and send voicemail attachments directly to any email account.

Retailing for £19.99, the V-phone offers consumers and small businesses the opportunity to save money on phone bills with Vonage's flat-rate, full-featured £7.99 a month calling plan. Besides free calls and low cost international and mobile rates, V-Phone customers also benefit from extra features like caller display, call waiting, call forwarding, voicemail, 3-way calling, 999 / 112 emergency services as a standard, etc. all included at no extra charge!

The device is no larger than a pack of gum, measuring 78mm x 21.5 mm x 15mm and weighing just 18g. It comes with a standard 2.5 mm stereo earpiece microphone, which is compatible with many mobile phone headsets.

Minimum PC configurations for using the V-Phone include Microsoft Windows 98 SE, Windows ME, Windows 2000 and Windows XP. The Vonage V-Phone is not currently compatible with Apple Macintosh or Linux Systems.
