Martin Witt studied Physics and started his professional career as development engineer at Siemens. He is working in the field of Telecommunications since 1994 and joined 1&1 Internet AG in 2009. Since April 1, 2014, Mr Witt is CEO of 1&1 Telecommunication SE. He was previously a member of the Management Board with responsibility for the Access business at 1&1 Internet AG after heading the Access Product Management division from July 2009 to June 2011. He is also a member of the Drillisch AG Management Board since 1 October 2017.

Since 2013, Mr. Witt is member of the Executive Committee of the German Telecoms Competitors Association VATM (Association of Telecommunications and Value-Added Service Providers) and has been President of VATM since 2014.

Martin Witt was actively engaged in the NGA Forum of Germany's Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur). He is member of the German National Digital Summit (former IT summit).

In 2016, Martin Witt became the Vice Chairman in the Board of Directors of ECTA.
