Richard Cadman

Dr Richard Cadman is an economics, policy and regulatory affairs consultant specialising in the regulated sectors, especially electronic communications. His work has included market analysis, economic assessment of markets and advising firms on public policy and regulatory developments. Richard is also a Non-Executive Director of the Foundation for Information Society, a non-aligned “think tank”.
In 2015, Richard was awarded a PhD from the prestigious Centre for Competition Policy (CCP) at the University of East Anglia. His thesis was on remedies for non-price discrimination in the UK broadband market. He also holds a Masters degree (with Distinction) in Competition and Regulation Policy from the CCP and a Bachelors degree in Politics from York University. He is now an Associate at the CCP. He is a regular conference speaker and has had articles published in specialist communications policy journals, notably Telecommunications Policy, InterMedia, the journal of the International Institute of Communications, and Info.
Richard’s commercial clients have included fixed and mobile operators, start-up businesses and satellite operators. In the public sector, he has worked for local and national governments, independent regulatory authorities and the European Commission.
