Philippe Distler was born in February 1954, and graduated from Ecole Polytechnique and Télécom Paris
From 1980 to 1996, he held various positions at Centre National d'Etudes des Télécommunications (CNET) in the field of networking, and participated in the introduction of Signalling System No. 7 in France.
Philippe Distler joined ART as Director of the Technical Division in 1997. In 2000, he became Director of the Interconnection and New Technologies Division, in charge of Local Loop unbundling. In october 2003 he was appointed director general.
He held various international positions in standardization bodies. He chaired Study Group 2 at the standardization sector of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU).
Philippe Distler has been appointed as member of ARCEP board, January 29, 2013.
