Professor Fátima Barros

Fátima Barros is professor of Economics and, since May 2012, she is the Head of the Portuguese National Regulatory Authority for Communications.
She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from CORE, Catholic University of Louvain, in Belgium, and a BA in Economics from the Catholic University of Portugal. Previously to this appointment she was the Dean of Católica-Lisbon School of Business and Economics (2004-2012) where she holds a professor position since 1992 and teaches in the Masters of Science in Management and MBA programs. She has several publications in leading international scientific journals in regulation, competition and contract theory. Until May 2012 she was a Board Member of several international academic and business institutions. In December 2013 she was elected Chair of BEREC (Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications) for 2015 and Vice-Chair for 2014 and 2016.
