Mr. Del Alisal is the International Director of CMT, the Spanish Regulatory Authority. He is also Chairing the Convergence Project Team of the ERG (the European Regulatory Group) and co-Chairing the Harmonization Project Team of the ERG. Mr. Del Alisal also Chairs the Harmonization and Convergence Group of REGULATEL (the Latin-American Regulatory Gropu). Mr. Del Alisal is a Lawyer and has Master's degrees in "Business Administration (Telecommunications Sector)" and "International Affairs". Mr. Del Alisal previous professional experience includes working for the European Commission, in D.G.Comp., where he was a Member of the article 7 Task Force and Case-handler in different competition law cases.

ALLEN, James

James Allen is Head of Regulation at Analysys Consulting's Cambridge office. He has an in-depth knowledge of the telecoms market, including broadband fixed access, 3G mobile networks, and 'next generation' voice and data services. He has led projects dealing with a wide variety of current networking technologies, for clients spanning the telecoms industry - private equity, banks, equipment manufacturers, new entrant operators, incumbents, regulators, and policy makers.
He has recently worked on a range of topics such as the revision of the EU Framework; commercial due diligence on an incumbent telco; access technology choice; local loop costing; the economics of large scale deployment of DSL; price benchmarking; several large global market forecasting systems; service portfolio designs; and creating and reviewing business plans. More recently, he was the author of a major study for DG Infosoc, European Commission, on IP voice and associated convergent services, looking at these in the context of the new regulatory framework for electronic communications services.

He has over 20 years of audit, corporate finance and consulting experience, working with clients in the communications and media sectors where his main focus has been on helping clients manage risk, evaluate strategic opportunities and achieve operational improvements. He leads KPMG's digital services which encompasses development of thought leadership material and delivery of solutions to clients on the topics of convergence and digital content. Tudor has worked extensively on projects in the US, UK, Belgium, Germany as well as Antigua, Australia, France, Hong Kong, India, Pakistan and Singapore.

AZIBERT, Michel

Michel Azibert is the Deputy CEO of the TDF Group.
He graduated with an engineering degree from Ecole Centrale de Paris, with a master of economy at Université de Paris I-Sorbonne and (top of the class) of the Ecole Nationale d'Administration (ENA).
He is a member of the Conseil d'Etat (Council of State, the French Supreme Administrative Court). He joined TDF in 1989 after taking a major role in drafting the French Media Law. Since then, he has been in charge of developing new business for TDF through external growth outside France (the TDF Group is now present in 7 European countries) and new services such as high speed internet or mobile TV. He is also in charge at TDF of regulatory and institutional affairs

BARTHOLOMEW, Michael

Michael Bartholomew was appointed director of the European Telecommunications Network Operators' Association (ETNO) in July 2000 and re-appointed in May 2003. ETNO is the main trade association for Europe's 41 largest e-communications operators located in 34 countries.
Mr. Bartholomew, based in the Belgian capital for the past 20 years, is a public affairs specialist in telecommunications, audiovisual, multimedia, trade and technology issues. As director of ETNO, he is responsible for running the Brussels-based secretariat. He oversees all working groups and develops public policy for Europe's largest telecom companies at the highest levels of government across the European Union and worldwide.
Prior to joining ETNO, Mr. Bartholomew served as Director for European Affairs for the Motion Picture Association that represents the global interests of Hollywood's major studios. A British citizen, Mr. Bartholomew also founded a Brussels public affairs consultancy, which he managed successfully for nine years.
With a master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University in Illinois, he began his career as a journalist and has worked for the Associated Press, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, and his columns on European affairs have been published in leading international newspapers.

He graduated (LL.M.) from the University of Lund in 1995 and started working as a trainee in Swedish lawfirm Lagerlof & Leman in 1995. Served as junior judge in the Stockholm District Court 1996. Joined Swedish lawfirm Mannheimer Swartling as an associate in 1997. Started working as General Counsel for Utfors AB (publ) in 2000 and, in 2002, as General Counsel for Telenor AB (Swedish subsidiary). Thereafter Jonas has held various positions in Telenor AB before he started in his current position with Tele2 in 2007.

John Blakemore is Director of European Regulatory Affairs for the 3 Group, part of the Hutchison Whampoa Limited telecommunications division. In this capacity, he is responsible for representing the 3 Group businesses in Europe and has day-to-day contact with the European Institutions. John reports directly to Christian Salbaing, Managing Director - European Telecommunications of Hutchison Europe Telecommunications Limited.John coordinates the work of the 3 Group's European Regulatory Forum, which comprises the regulatory directors from each of the Group's 6 operating companies in the EU. In that role, he co-ordinates Group positions on regulatory topics and Group responses to consultations at the EU level.John has worked in the telecommunications industry for 6 years. Prior to that he was at the UK's competition authority, the Office of Fair Trading, where he was Chief Financial Analyst. There he was responsible for the financial analysis of competition cases involving abuses of dominance, anti-competitive agreements and mergers.John has a first degree in economics, an MSc in finance and is a qualified accountant. John is a British citizen.

His research has focused on the U.S. and European VoIP industry, including legal and regulatory issues, as well as subscriber and revenue trends. Mr. Brodsky has more than twelve years of telecommunications industry experience. Prior to joining TeleGeography, he served as Senior Manager of Radio-Frequency Engineering for Nextel Communications. He also served five years as an officer in the United States Navy. He holds a B.S.E. from the University of Pennsylvania.

BRUMLEY, Robert

Robert H. Brumley is the Chairman and CEO of TerreStar Global Ltd and is the CEO and a Director of TerreStar Corporation, its majority shareholder.
Mr. Brumley brings extensive telecommunications, security and transactional experience, both domestic and international, to TerreStar.
He previously served as President & CEO of Pegasus Global, an international firm he co-founded specializing in telecommunications, technology, infrastructure development and aerospace/defense. He held senior executive positions with global communications firms such as Deutsche Telekom and Bell Atlantic International where he was responsible for Bell Atlantic's international telecommunications transactions worldwide, including its participation in Constellation Communications, Inc., a low earth orbit satellite venture.
Mr. Brumley served as General Counsel of the U.S. Department of Commerce from 1987 to 1989, where he was chief legal officer of the Department and senior policy advisor to the Secretary. Between 1983 and 1989 he also served on senior-level working groups of the National Security, Domestic and Economic Policy Councils and chaired the policy group that privatized commercial space transportation.

Richard Cadman is a senior strategy, policy, and regulatory economics consultant specialising in the electronic communications industry. He has a BA from York University in Politics and Economics, and has completed his Masters degree in Competition and Regulation Policy at the University of East Anglia, Centre for Competition Policy. Richard has over ten years experience as a consultant. Before establishing SPC Network in 2003, Richard was Deputy Chief Executive of the Eurodata Foundation, which became Teligen Ltd, prior to which he held several posts in telecoms and IT companies.

CURRIE, Lord David

David Currie was named in July 2002 as the inaugural Chairman of the new regulator for the communications sector, Ofcom. This appointment followed a long and distinguished career in economics, including roles in regulation, academia, the private sector and advising governments.
A well-known figure in international economic policy, David Currie has published extensively in the field of government regulation of industry and of macroeconomic policy. He was Dean of Cass Business School (2001-2007), and Professor of Economics (1988-2000) and Deputy Dean (1992-95, 1999-2000) at London Business School and Director of its Centre for Economic Forecasting (1988-95) and Regulation Initiative (1995-2000).
David has previously served on the Board of Ofgem (the UK energy regulator) and on the Board of Abbey National, as well as on a variety of UK government advisory bodies including the Treasury's Panel of Independent Forecasters (the "Wise Men"). He is a Board member of the Dubai Financial Services Authority. He sits on the cross-benches in the House of Lords as Lord Currie of Marylebone.

Jonathan Dann

Jonathan Dann joined Bear Stearns in December 2002 as Managing Director responsible for coverage of the European wireline sector. Prior to Bear Stearns he had been at HSBC since 2000, where he built up the European alternative-operator product in 2000, moving to co-lead coverage of the European wireline sector in 2001. At HSBC, Jonathan ranked first in both Continental and UK wireline in the Reuters 2001 survey, and was rated for accuracy in 2002 and 2003 by Starmine and Extel.
Prior to HSBC, Jonathan worked for four years at Universities Superannuation Scheme Ltd. in London as a buyside European equities analyst, contributing to top decile performance of the fund in 1998 and 1999. He holds a PhD degree for chemistry from University College London.

He is an alumnus of the Ecole Normale Supérieure (1997-2000) where he studied law and economics. He holds an agrégation in Economics and Management.

DOELEMAN, Jaap

Jaap Doeleman (born 1952; admitted to the Amsterdam Bar in 1980) heads the Communications Practice of Houthoff Buruma, with 600+ staff the second largest law firm in the Netherlands. His clients are concentrated in the broadcasting and e-communications sectors.Additionally, he represents clients from other industries in competition cases relating in particular to dominance and merger control issues. Since the early 1990s he has specialised in competition law, broadcasting law and e-communications law. Jaap is fascinated by technology andhas developed a practice that focuses on transactions, regulatory issues and litigation in the TMT sectors. He is particularly interested in the competition aspects of network industries. Jaap Doeleman has successfully represented a number of Dutch municipalities in litigation against rate increases by the main cable operators in the Netherlands, UPC and Casema, resulting in 30 - 40% lower rates. In addition to being an expert on the mobile communications sector in which he advises mobile operators and the Dutch DTT-operator Digitenne, he is the legal advisor of the Amsterdam Citynet project, the starting point of a new and open FttH access network covering the Dutch capital. Jaapread history and law at Groningen University. He worked as an assistant at the Groningen Institute of War Studies and was an officerwith the UNIFIL peacekeeping forces in the Lebanon during his military service in 1978/79. At Houthoff Buruma he went on to develop a varied corporate commercial practice. After having been seconded to an affiliated firm in Boston, USA, he was made an equity partner of Houthoff Buruma in 1987. Jaap Doeleman is a member of the Nederlandse Vereniging voor Europees Recht (Netherlands Association for European Law), the Vereniging voor Mededingingsrecht (Competition Law Association), the Vereniging voor Media en Communicatierecht (Communications Law Association) and the International Bar Association. He is the author of severalpublications dealing withvarious aspects of corporate law, the liberalisation of the communications sector and cable-TV issues.

John joined the Commission for Communications Regulation (ComReg) in 2001 as Director of Market Operations, before becoming a Commissioner in 2002 and held the rotating Chairpersonship from 01 December 2003 to 30 November 2004.
ComReg is the statutory body responsible for regulating the Electronic Communications and Postal Sectors in Ireland.
Before joining ComReg, John held a number of senior management positions in the Industrial Development Authority including those of Head of New Business Development focussing on identifying and developing new business opportunities for IDA in areas such as eCommerce, Biotechnology and International Services.
Prior to joining IDA John worked in a number of management positions in the chemical and engineering sectors both in Ireland and Internationally. He is an Economist by background with an MSc in Informatics and a Graduate Diploma in Business Administration

Grant currently works for British Telecom Global Services, as Head of Global Regulatory and Interconnection, based in London. The role includes responsibility for all of BT's global regulatory teams in Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific and Latin America.
Prior to moving to London in 2006, Grant was for seven years Manager of Industry & Regulatory Affairs for TelstraClear in New Zealand and prior to that he held the role of Chief Executive for five years in TUANZ (the Telecommunications Users Association of New Zealand) following a career in telecommunications and IT in New Zealand, United Kingdom and the United States.
Grant holds an MBA from the University of Auckland and MSCE from the University of Washington.

Born 13 December 1963 at Nové Město na Moravě. He graduated from Bank Institute of the Prague University with the degree ofBachelor. From 1971 he lived in Brno where he studied at ahigh school specialising on computer technology. In 1988 he started studying at the Prague School of Economics (management information systems) but interrupted the study to be able to fully focus on his business activities (development of economic software and later also tax advising). He has lived in Prague since 1997. In 1996 he was elected Member of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic and was member of the Chamber'sForeign Department. In 1997 he returned his MP mandate because of being appointed Deputy Minister of Finance. He headed the Finance Ministry'sSection of Taxes, Customs and Informatics in 1997-1998. Afterwards he worked as economic and tax adviser in aconsulting company. From 2002 he was Deputy Minister of Informatics and was primarily responsible for the areas of electronic communication and postal services. He is aco-author of the State Information and Communication Policy. He substantially contributed to the development of the Electronic Information Act. From 1 May 2005 he has been member of the CTO Council. His hobbies include culture, tourism and travelling.

GAUTHEY, Gabrielle

Gabrielle Gauthey is member of the Board of the French Regulatory Authority for Electronic Communications and Posts(ARCEP) since January 2003. Gabrielle Gauthey, is a graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique and holds a postgraduate degree in economic analysis. She began her career with France Telecom and joined DATAR in 1992 as head of the foreign investment department in France and as General Secretary of the "Invest in France" network. From 1995 to 1997 she worked at the office of the Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Space Affairs as a technical adviser on telecommunications and information technologies. From 1998 to July 2000 she was Deputy Director-General of Sofirad and Director-General of "Le SAT", the first satellite-based operator of French-language digital TV and radio services in Africa. Till January 2003, she was Director of the Information and Communication Technologies Department at the Caisse des Depots et Consignations, responsible for investment in the "regional digital development" programme by mandate of the state.

GODLOVITCH, Ilsa

Ilsa is responsible for developing and delivering on the regulatory and policy agenda at ECTA, the trade association representing 150 competitive (non-incumbent) operators across Europe. Prior to joining ECTA in June 2005, she was EU Affairs Director at Cable & Wireless and also represented C&W's international businesses in developing countries outside Europe during a period of widespread liberalisation in the sector. Whilst at Oftel (the UK Telecoms Regulator), Ilsa was responsible for European Affairs and negotiated for the UK Government on the current EU Framework forCommunications. She was previously a technology journalist. She holds an MA in Classics from Oxford University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Economics from London University.

Matjae Jane¡a, m.sc., was appointed to the position of director general of the Electronic Communications Directorate at the Ministry of Economy. He is responsible for telecommunications, radio-diffusion, e-business and postal services.
He is also member of board of Slovenian standardization institute and member of some expert committees and commissions.
Mr. Matjae Jane¡a, MSc., was born on 10 February 1966 in Kranj, Slovenia, and lives now resident in Ljubljana.
After finishing studies at the Faculty of Electronics and Computer Sciences at the University of Ljubljana, where he graduated as a University Diploma Engineer of Electronics he continued his studies at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Ljubljana and reached the Master degree on management and organisation.
Mr. Matjae Janea was employed in the company Iskratel in Kranj. In the period between 1992 and 2004 he performed different tasks concerning the development of different telecommunication equipment and product management. Within this time he spent a certain period of time working together with the company Siemens in Munich, Germany. Within the framework of his duties he was responsible for product management, project management, was head of the development department and performed the duty of deputy to the head of a profit centre. Since 1998 he is also holding the status of 'researcher'.

Reinald Krüger has worked in the European Commission since 1995. Until November 2000, he worked as Administrator in the Industry Directorate-General on trade and industrial policy related tasks. He then moved to the Competition Directorate-General where he headed from January 2003 the Task Force & Telecom Consultation Mechanism - which was jointly responsible with the respective services of the Information Society Directorate-General for scrutinising draft regulatory measures notified by national regulatory authorities. From November 2004, he is Deputy Head of Unit - Antitrust Telecoms - and Case manager of major antitrust telecoms cases under Art.82 of EC Treaty. Before he joined the Commission, Reinald Krüger was Head of the Research Group "Industrial Economics and Competition Policy" at one of the leading German economics research institutes, the HWWA-Institute for Economic Research in Hamburg. In 1989, he was a Consultant at the US antitrust authority Federal Trade Commission (FTC), and in 1990 a Sideline Competition Expert for the World Bank. After his studies in economics, he was Research and Teaching Assistant for Economic Policy at the University of Hamburg. Reinald Krüger is author of 34 publications in the areas of industrial economics, competition policy and transition economics.

Bernd Langeheine took up his present job as Director for Electronic Communications Policy at the European Commission's DG Information Society and Media in July 2002. Before that he headed the General Policy Unit in the European Commission's DG Competition for three years. From January 1996 to June 1999, he was in charge of the Trade Section in the Washington Delegation of the European Commission. From 1990-1996, Mr Langeheine was a Member of the Commission's Legal Service and before that, he spent three years at the European Court of Justice. From 1983 to 1987, he worked in the Trade Policy Division of the Commission's DG for External Relations.
Mr Langeheine spent the academic year 1993/94 as EU Fellow at the Business School of the University of Washington in Seattle, Wash. He studied law and political science at the Universities of Hamburg and Berlin and holds a Ph. D. in law.

Prior to that appointment, he was Bloomberg's full-time correspondent in Luxembourg, where he was responsible for covering the EU courts. He wrote articles about merger and cartel appeals, as well as pharmaceutical, trademark and patent cases. He began working for Bloomberg in February 2004. From January 1999 to the end of 2003, he worked for Dow Jones Newswires in Brussels. He covered telecommunications, trade and other regulatory stories. He worked at Dow Jones Newswires' New York office between 1995 and 1999 and wrote about personal finance issues. Prior to Dow Jones, he worked as a reporter at the City News Bureau of Chicago between 1993 and 1995, covering police, fire and city hall matters. He began his career at the Swampscott Reporter, where he wrote about politics in a small town north of Boston, Massachusetts. Robert Pepper leads a team driving Cisco's global agenda for advanced technology policy in areas such as broadband, IP enabled services, wireless, security and privacy. His academic appointments included faculty positions at the Universities of Iowa, Indiana, and Pennsylvania, and as a research affiliate at Harvard University. He serves on the board of directors of the U.S. Telecommunications Training Institute (USTTI) and the Information Technology and Innovation Foundation (ITIF), advisory boards for Columbia University and Michigan State University, and is a Communications Program Fellow at the Aspen Institute. He is a member of the U.S. Department of Commerce's Spectrum Management Advisory Committee and the UK's Ofcom Spectrum Advisory Board. Michael Taylor is General Counsel for Vonage Ltd. He has responsibility for the company's legal and regulatory affairs. At Vonage, Michael actively participates on the Ofcom New Voice Services Consumer Information Working Group and the NICC Task Group convened to at look at VoIP emergency services and location information. His role involves coordinating and helping execute Vonage's UK and European VoIP regulatory strategy. Michael is a director of the Onslow Group, which offers legal and regulatory services to clients in the telecoms, media and technology sectors.
Previous roles: From 1999 to 2001, Michael served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel to FirstMark Communications Europe, a pan European operator providing broadband wireless services and backbone fibre connectivity. Prior to that he served as Deputy General Counsel to the global mobile satellite operator, ICO Global Communications where he provided legal and regulatory support to their global operations. While at ICO, he chaired the interconnect working group of the European Telecommunications Platform in Brussels with the remit of producing a pan European framework interconnect agreement which was eventually accepted by the Commission. Before his time at ICO, Michael was Director of Legal and Regulatory Affairs at the US headquartered company ACC Long Distance, the first operator to be granted an International Simple Resale License in the UK ("the post duopoly era"). He also held a number of high level positions at Mercury Communications, the UK's first licensed operator authorised to provide public telecommunications services in competition with BT. During his time at Mercury and ACC, Michael was involved in regulatory issues very similar to the issues (e.g. regulatory, consumer and industry) facing the VoIP industry today. He was directly involved in numerous Oftel working groups, very similar in constitution to the New Voice Services Working Group gatherings of today. Michael was called to the English Bar in 1986.
Areas of expertise: Having spent his entire career in the telecoms industry, Michael is extremely well versed in telecoms regulatory affairs with specific expertise in legal issues surrounding the development and roll out of VoIP technology.

Born in Rome with a degree in Economics & Business Administration at LUISS University in Rome, she has always worked in the telecommunications industry with experiences in Telecom Italia (initially as an analyst in the Strategic Planning Dept and later as a researcher on economic and regulatory affairs at the San Salvador Study Center in Venice). In 1997 she worked in the regulatory affairs dept. of Infostrada, the first alternative fixed line operator in Italy in the initial phases of liberalization and therefore followed all aspects related to the liberalization process in Italy and in Europe. She then worked at the Italian NRA for four years as an assistant to one of the commissioners and has contributed to the definition of the main regulatory proceedings regarding the liberalization process in Italy with particular emphasis on Unbundling, bitstream and interconnection. From 2002 to mid 2007 she had an international experience with Telecom Italia Sparkle, the international wholesale voice and data division of Telecom Italia in the New York Office, dealing with marketing and regulatory aspects of international voice and data services. From April 2007, she is director of Regulatory Affairs of Fastweb, the main alternative broadband and IPTV provider in Italy.

He led the projects that set BT's current access and interconnect prices and was a member of the steering committee for Ofcom's Strategic Review of Telecommunications Prior to Ofcom David had 20 years' experience working with PwC and focused exclusively in the telecoms sector for the last 12 of those years. In addition to his regulatory experience David has directed projects on due diligence, asset valuation, benchmarking, organisational structures and audit for fixed and mobile operators across Europe, Middle and Far East and Africa. In total David has worked with over 80 operators in some 30 countries across the globe.

VAN GAEVER, Alian

Alain Van Gaever works in the Policy Development & Regulatory Framework unit of DG Information Society, where he is responsible for Next Generation Networks (NGN), Voice over IP (VoIP), Interconnection in IP-enabled networks, Access to Emergency Services (forward-looking aspects), Standardization and Power Line Communications (PLC). He has 14 years of experience in the Telecoms Sector. Before joining the European Commission, he worked as a Signal Troops officer in the Armed Forces in Belgium and as a Voice over IP consultant in Cisco Systems. Alain has a Master degree in Engineering from the polytechnic division of the Royal Military Academy, a master degree in Telematics and an MBA from the University of Brussels.

VIOLA, Roberto

Roberto Viola holds a doctor degree in electronic engineering (Dr. Ing.) and a master in business administration (MBA). He is currently in charge of managing the overall AGCOM organisation as Secretary-General. He is chairman-elect for the 2007 of the European Regulatory Group (ERG). He served in AGCOM (1999-2004), as director of regulation department and technical director being in charge of , inter alia, regulation in terrestrial, cable and satellite television, frequency planning, access and interconnection of communication services, cost accounting and tariff in telecommunication and broadcasting services. From 1985-1999 he served in various position as a staff member of the European Space Agency (ESA) in particular, he has been head of telecommunication and broadcasting satellite services. He pionered novel communication systems (UMTS, satellite radio, digital broadcasting) publishing more than 100 scientific papers and holding key patents in the sector.

Ed graduated from the The Hague University with a bachelor degree in Radio Communications, The Haarlem University with a bachelor degree in Computer Engineering and from the Amsterdam University with a bachelor degree in Business Management. He joints the Dutch Civil Aviation Authorities in 1970 where he was made responsible for Instrument Landing systems and navigation aids flight-testing. He left this service in 1980 for a carrier with the former Dutch public carrier, now KPN. After 5 years working he left for a more exiting job as telecommunications advisor/project leader for the Royal Dutch Shell group. Although stationed at The Hague he worked on various projects amongst others in Libya, Morocco, Egypt, Gabon, Bangladesh, Nepal, Syria, Columbia and Norway. He retired from Shell after 20 years of service in April 2004.
Ed was involved with telecommunications throughout his whole active carrier. His work brought him into contact with the European ISDN user forum and he has been chairman of one of the working groups. He remains active for almost two years pursuing harmonisation of ISDN services within Europe.
Ed was also a member of the Telecommunications Foundation of Africa (TFA) a non-profit industry forum to promote telecommunications development. His activities for Africa results from his experience with telecommunication projects in this continent and his appreciation for the African people.
Ed is now 12 years active within the European Virtual Network User Association (EVUA). He was former board member and chairman. After retirement from Shell he was asked to lead the organisation and to become their CEO. His main activities are focusing on commercial aspect, development of Enterprise Network Services and relation with suppliers and other user groups.
Ed interest in the telecommunications market ranges from better service definitions for nuts and bolt services toward complete outsourcing of Enterprise Infrastructure Services. Although critical towards what the market can deliver on a global scale, Ed's vision remains that outsourcing holds the future and that multinationals will look towards service providers that can deliver enterprise infrastructure services in a competitive and open market.
Ed is living in the old town of Delft. When not travelling he takes his push bike or does fitness training.

Dennis Weller is Chief Economist of Verizon. Mr. Weller did his graduate study in economics at Stanford University, and performed economic research at the Hoover Institution under grants from the U.S. Department of Justice. Mr. Weller began his career in telecommunications at AT&T, where he developed the pricing strategy and new service offers with which AT&T responded to competition in long distance. As Chief Economist of GTE, Mr. Weller proposed new approaches to universal service, and negotiated an industry agreement which cut access charges in the United States in half. At Verizon, Mr. Weller is now focused on policies for next generation networks.

WHITE, Nick

Nick has spent nearly forty years in IT, in a variety of roles, principally in telecommunications. Most recently, during his fifteen years at Unilever, starting as head of Worldwide Telecommunications, he also managed IT Strategy, Ecommerce, and Information Management. At HSBC, starting as group Telecommunications Manager, he went on to manage all Midland Bank's computer centres and networks as Group IT Operations Director and to chair a technology subsidiary, Midland Network Services. In 10 years at Reuters, finishing as Deputy Technical Controller, he managed software and engineering development and production for global telecommunications and information systems.
Nick has been a Vice Chairman of INTUG since 1994, and was Chairman of CMA from 1990-1993.
