Intelligentias Joins the European Competitive Telecommunications Association to Help Provide Guidance on Data Retention Compliance and Solutions

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., April 8, 2008 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Joining with telecommunications service providers in Europe during a time of dynamic change, consolidation, and new regulation, Intelligentias, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: ITLI) has become the newest member of the European Competitive Telecommunications Association (ECTA). The ECTA is a Brussels-based association that represents service providers and network equipment vendors to key government and regulatory bodies, maintains a forum for networking-related business issues, and assists new market entrants to help ensure an even playing field.

"The European Union's adoption in 2006 of the Data Retention Directive places a considerable extra burden on telecommunications service providers and we are delighted that Intelligentias has joined our association to be able to bring their expertise into our community and potentially support ECTA members in this complex area," says ECTA Chairman Innocenzo Genna.

"Europe is ahead of the rest of the world in acknowledging the value of call data records and IP data records to law enforcement, but mandates for data retention must be fair and must not adversely impact emerging telecommunications providers challenging incumbents," says Ian Rice, CEO of Intelligentias. "We look forward to joining with the ECTA membership in advocating for prudent and fair data retention regulations."

Intelligentias was the first data retention solutions vendor, building what today is the only purpose-built solution on the market, the
Intelligentias Retentia(R) Data Retention Suite. Originally created for a telecommunications service provider, Retentia is a file system instead of a relational database. It features the most scalable, cost-effective, and lean solution for providers anywhere in the world. The company's solutions are now operational in telcos, ISPs, and mobile service providers in Europe, and South America.
