Cuatrecasas appoints 21 new Partners

The firm received in London the prestigious IFLR Spanish Law Firm of the Year award 2007

On Friday, March 16, Cuatrecasas held its annual Partners Assembly in the Portuguese town of Cascais. The agreements the firm's governing body adopted include the appointment of the following 21 lawyers as partners of Cuatrecasas: Juan Antonio Aguayo Escalona, Luis lvarez de la Vega Gaztelu, Ignacio Azkue Fernandez, Vasco Bivar Azevedo, Javier Carvajal Garc­a-Valdecasas, Paulo Castro Rangel, Joaqu­n Cuesta Domi­nguez, Carlos Ferrer Haro, Pedro Antonio Gil Palencia, Miguel Guerrero Acosta, Rafael Hinojosa Segovia, Eva Lasuncin Pats, Iigo de Luisa Ma­z, Francisco Mlaga Di©guez, Josep Marsal Fortuny, Luis Monts Reig, Ramn Oliver de Querol, Alberto Palacios Viado, M Jess Parra Prez, Antonio Pip Malgosa and Nuno S Carvalho.

During the Partners Assembly, Emilio Cuatrecasas emphasised the whole firm's effort to improve its efficiency and the quality of its legal advice.

Spanish Law Firm of the Year award 2007

In an event held last Wednesday in London, Cuatrecasas received the awards for Spanish Law Firm of the Year 2007 and for advice on the M&A Deal of the Year, which the prestigious British publication International Financial Law Review (IFLR) presents each year.

At the awards ceremony, the jury said that it considered the work the firm performed throughout 2006, particularly the advice Cuatrecasas provided on Mittal Steel's offer for the European steel company Arcelor. The firm also received the Deal of the Year award for this deal.

The awards were presented at a dinner held at the Natural History Museum in London on March 14, which over 350 lawyers from leading European firms attended. The IFLR awards enjoy high international prestige and are presented annually by the International Financial Law Review magazine, part of the Legal Media Group publishing group, which has over 15 years experience in informing on legal matters in the business world, making it one of the leading publications in the sector.
