Cuatrecasas REINFORCES ITS LITIGATION AND TAX PRACTICES WITH TWO NEW PARTNERS

Luis Murillo Jaso, as a partner in the Zaragoza office, will head the firm's team of specialists in the audiovisual sector.

Joan Hortal, state finance inspector, will direct a general taxation team in Barcelona

Cuatrecasas has recruited two new partners in the Zaragoza and Barcelona offices. With the appointment of Luis Murillo Jaso and Joan Hortal , the firm reinforces its litigation and tax practices. Mr. Murillo will also head a team of lawyers specialised in the audiovisual sector.

Mr. Murillo has recently joined Cuatrecasas Zaragoza's Litigation Practice as a partner to direct, on a national level, the firm's team of specialists in the audiovisual sector. Until now, he was director of the Legal Affairs Department of the Corporacion Aragonesa de Radio y Television.

He holds a bachelor of laws from the Universidad de Zaragoza and was legal services advisor for the Aragon Regional Government; secretary of the Legal Advisory Committee of the Aragon Regional Government; a member of the Economic-Administrative Claims Board of the Autonomous Region of Aragon and, since its foundation, director of the Legal Affairs Department of the Corporacion Aragonesa de Radio y Television. He was also a member of the legal committee of the Federation of Regional Radio and Television Organisations (FORTA).

Mr. Hortal will direct a new group of tax experts in Barcelona. He holds a doctor of economics and a bachelor of laws, and is a state finance inspector. As an inspector, he held various posts such as Chief Inspector of the Tax Authorities Barcelona Division, National European Commission Expert and Coordinator of the Double Taxation Treaties Area.

Mr. Hortal has published several books on taxation and over 60 articles in Spanish and foreign journals. He has given over 80 conferences throughout Europe and America and lectures at ESADE.
