The NEW EIDQ Association is born

The 16th Plenary Meeting of the EIDQ Association took place on 23-25 October 2006 in Stockholm, Sweden, kindly hosted by Eniro 118 118 AB.

During the meeting, Members gave their approval to new Articles which herald an evolutionary change to the scope and purpose of the Association. Changes were necessary to keep pace with the Industry and meet the needs of the membership which has grown by 60% in 3 years.

The EIDQ Association, described as the Association for the Directory Information Industry, has the following Mission Statement:

To promote and support the Directory Information Industry to help customers communicate worldwide.

This statement is underpinned by detailed objectives and a strategy plan which will create a more open organisation not limited to European activities.

Also, a new General Secretary, Wim Steenhaut, was approved by the Stockholm meeting. He officially takes up his post on 1 January 2007.

We are now looking forward to the next event in Madrid, Spain in April 2007 where it will be jointly hosted by 11888 Servicio Consulta Telefonica, S.A., Telefonica de Espana and Schober PDM Iberia S.A. The actual date in April will be advised later.
