ECTA launches study at European Parliament
On 3 March 2010, ECTA launched the Analysys Mason Digital Deficit study at a breakfast briefing in the European Parliament kindly hosted by Adina-Ioana Valean, MEP.

The Analysys Mason study covers ‘the state of competition in the European telecoms sector and its impact on consumers and business’ and looks at high level financial indicators and the Telecoms landscape in six European markets Belgium, Germany, Italy, Poland, Portugal and Spain; identifying conduct by dominant operators which hampers competition and calculates the impact of such anti-competitive practices on fixed and mobiles services provided to consumers and business.
The results of the study were presented by James Allen, Partner, Analysys Mason (the study author) and interventions were made by several key policy makers including Mrs Adina-Ioana Valean and Fabio Colasanti, Director General of DG Information Society for the European Commission.
The Analysys Mason report was well received and allowed for good discussion and further questions to policy makers.
