Board Election Details
The ECTA Board consists of eleven (11) Directors who, except in the case of an individual who is a Member, are senior executives or equivalent of a Full or Affiliate Member company. The term of office for each newly elected Director is two (2) years commencing on 1 January of the year following their election.
Six of the eleven Directors were appointed at an election by ballot at the Eleventh Annual General Meeting in 2009. The other five Directors were appointed at an election by ballot at the Tenth Annual General Meeting in 2008.
Later this year we shall begin the process for electing six directors to serve two year terms from 1 January 2011.
This process begins in early Autumn with a Call for Nominations by email to all Full and Affiliate Members of ECTA where they are invited to nominate a senior executive from their company to stand. After a closing date agreed by the ECTA Board, the submitted nominations are reviewed by a Committee made up of current ECTA Board Members and a short-list is established to stand for election by the Members.
A Notice of AGM is communicated to all Full & Affiliate Members by email at least 30 days (Article 11) prior to the date of the AGM, along with the announcement of the initiation of the ballot for receipt of proxies for the Election and the AGM. All relevant documentation, including Forms of Proxy and a list of eliglble candidates will be available on our website at that time. Ballots are counted at the AGM which usually takes place at the end of the year.
All Full & Affiliate Members of good standing at the close of business sixty (60) days pror to the AGM are eligible to vote and a quorum of 10% of that number is required in person or by proxy at the AGM.
