Prior to founding Satko and NetOne (a corporate ISP and long distance telephone service provider) in 1994 and 1996 respectively, worked as a consultant in Paris (1991 to 1994); held business development, strategic planning and project management positions in Eutelsat, Paris (1983 to 1991); occupied system integration management and project management positions in NICSMA a Nato agency in Brussels (1977 to 1983) was a principal Scientist at SHAPE Technical Centre, the Hague (1973 to 1977) and did R&D at Comsat laboratories in Washington. D.C. (1968 to 1971).

Has a Ph.D. degree from University of Pennsylvania (1968) and an MSc. degree from Istanbul Technical University (1963).
